John was my deep diver instructor in Great Britain. It was cold and tough, but John made sure I was prepared for the cold water environment. More importantly, John then helped me define and mentored my development path into technical diving (something I always wanted to do) and he guided me through the process on and off the water, in a variety of environments. It is very important to have an instructor that will stick with you through your own diver development path because a diver’s life is a lifetime’s journey, not a one-off experience.
